Knowledge Series Module 6 - The Steel Supply Chain

The steel supply chain is as long as it is varied. It encompasses a whole host of stakeholders, from the manufacturing mills right through to end users in building and construction, heavy engineering and manufacturing.

This course is perfect for anyone who works in the Australian steel supply chain, whether you’re an architect, an engineering graduate or a marketing manager. It is designed to provide an overview of the steel industry, giving context to your role, responsibilities, and interaction with other members of the steel supply chain. This course is a total of 75 minutes.

There are three options available in our series of ‘Induction to Steel’ courses. Otherwise, if you cannot decide or would like a taste-test or only need specific topics to supplement your knowledge, we have separated the modules out so you can get an idea what each module is about. You can find all these courses at the bottom of this page in the 'Similar Products and Pages' section.

• An overview of the steel supply chain
• Two primary channels in the supply chain:
  • Long products
  • Flat products
• The supply chain for long products
• The supply chain for flat products
• The role of distributors and processors
• Fabrication and erection

The eLearning course must be completed within 62 days from the date of purchase. Once the time has expired, the course lessons can no longer be accessed. Any extensions may be requested but will incur an administration fee.

Supporting material associated with the course, including course notes and completion certificates, will remain available on your ASI Dashboard indefinitely. Course notes are usually created from the PowerPoint presentation pack developed by the presenter. Any other supporting materials such as technical notes or links to similar courses to further enhance your learning goals will be available from the course itself or in the course description section. Completion certificates are available for paid courses and member-specific free courses.
